Acne and Scarring
Skin Lesions
Description
Title
Lympha Press (Pneumatic Compression Therapy)
Drink plenty of water over the next 24 hours to support your body's natural drainage. Gentle movement, such as walking, helps keep fluid circulating. Avoid alcohol and processed foods for at least 24 hours. An increase in urination in the hours following treatment is expected and normal. Rest if needed. Your body continues processing the effects of the session for some time afterward. Contact the clinic if you experience any pain, numbness or discomfort that doesn't settle.
Plasma Pen
Keep the treated area dry for the first 24 to 48 hours. Avoid washing, wetting or getting the area sweaty during this time. Sleep with your head slightly elevated for the first couple of nights to help reduce swelling. Small scabs will form in the treated area and typically resolve within 7 to 10 days. Let them fall off naturally; don't pick at them. Avoid makeup on the treated area until the scabs have fully fallen off. Avoid strenuous exercise, heat, steam and sweating for at least 48 hours, as this can increase inflammation. Avoid direct sun exposure while healing. Apply SPF once the area has closed over. Some redness and swelling in the first few days is normal. Collagen remodelling continues for up to 12 weeks, so results will keep improving after the visible healing is complete. Contact the clinic if you notice signs of infection or anything that doesn't seem to be healing as expected.
Q-Switched YAG Laser
Avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks after your session. Your skin will be more vulnerable to UV damage during this time. Treated pigment may appear to darken before it flakes or fades. This is a normal part of the clearing process. Let it shed naturally; don't pick or scrub it off. Keep the area gently moisturised with a fragrance-free product, and avoid harsh actives, exfoliants or scrubs until your skin has settled. Mild redness or swelling in the treated area is expected and typically settles within 24 to 48 hours. Follow any specific aftercare instructions your therapist gives for your treatment.
Skin Needling / ProCell Microchanneling
For the first 24 hours, cleanse with lukewarm water only. Avoid other products, including makeup. From 24 hours, reintroduce a gentle cleanser, hydrating serum, moisturiser and SPF. Avoid active skincare ingredients (retinoids, exfoliating acids) for the first 3 days. Avoid touching or picking at the treated skin as it heals. Avoid heat-induced activities like steam rooms, saunas and excessive exercise for 24 to 48 hours. Mild redness, tightness and swelling is normal, similar to a mild sunburn, and typically settles within 24 to 48 hours. After 7 days, you can gradually reintroduce your usual active skincare.
Chemical Peels
Some redness, tightness, peeling, drying or mild sensitivity is normal in the days following your peel. Not everyone visibly peels. This doesn't mean the peel hasn't worked. Avoid makeup, swimming, saunas, steam rooms and exercise that causes sweating until your skin has settled. Cleanse gently with cool or lukewarm water and pat dry, don't rub. Never pick, peel or pull at loose or flaking skin. This can lead to scarring or pigmentation. Moisturise whenever your skin feels tight or dry. Apply SPF daily and avoid direct sun exposure while your skin is healing. Avoid active skincare ingredients until your therapist advises it's safe to reintroduce them.
Skin Lesion Removal
Keep the treated area clean, dry and protected with the dressing provided. Avoid getting it wet in the shower for the first 24 to 48 hours, or as advised by your therapist. Gently clean the area as instructed and apply any antibiotic ointment provided to support healing and reduce infection risk. Avoid direct sun exposure on the treated area while it heals, and apply SPF once it's closed over. Avoid makeup on the treated area until it has fully healed. Alcohol and smoking can slow healing, so it's worth minimising both while your skin recovers. A scab may form. Let it fall off naturally, don't pick at it. Some swelling, redness or mild bruising in the first week or two is normal. Contact the clinic if you notice increasing pain, spreading redness, pus or any other signs of infection.
